PGE and ZE PAK's vehicle PGE PAK EJ applied for a decision formally paving the way for applying for further administrative permits concerning construction of their joint nuclear power project, to be built in cooperation with South Korean concern KHNP, PGE PAK EJ management told reporters. The plant is to be ready in 2035 and will meet 12% of Poland's current demand for electricity, the officials said. In April, PGE and ZE PAK formally set up a special purpose vehicle, named PGE PAK Energia Jadrowa, to build a nuclear power plant in Patnow with KHNP as the technology provider.

PGE and ZEPAK each have 50% in the SPV. According to-date analysis, the planned NPP is to consist of two APR1400 reactors, which totals to 2,800 MW of combined capacity.
