PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna S.A. and Zespól Elektrowni Patnów-Adamów-Konin S.A. agreed to set up a 50/50 joint venture for their planned nuclear power plant project according to a deal signed by the firms. The joint venture will represent the Polish partners in talks with technology provider KHNP. A motion to antitrust watchdog UOKiK for a consent for the concentration will be filed on March 7, 2023. Back in October 2022, PGE, ZE PAK and KHNP signed a letter of intent on cooperation to build an NPP in Patnow.

In the first stage of the project, partners will seek to build two units with APR 1400 reactors. The companies expect to commission the first unit in 2035.
