Xilam announced on Monday that its project had been selected as part of a government program aimed at putting France back at the forefront of cultural and creative content production.

The animation studio, notably behind the series 'Oggy and the Cockroaches', says it is one of 68 winners of the call for projects 'La Grande Fabrique de l'image' of the France 2030 plan, with a budget of 350 million euros.

Xilam explains that its project, dubbed 'Métamorphose 2030', aims in particular to set up a laboratory that will give pride of place to artificial intelligence tools in the creative stages.

The company also says it intends to strengthen its international presence, by opening representative offices abroad, in particular in Los Angeles.

The 'Grande Fabrique de l'image' plan aims to make France the European leader in filming and digital production, while projections for 2030 predict a doubling in production volume.
