Suez has announced the signing of new contracts with Toyota Tsusho Europe SA for the recovery of metals from plants in Turkey.

For many years, Suez group subsidiary Boone Comenor Metalimpex (BCM) and the Toyota Tsusho group have been developing a fruitful partnership in Europe, Brazil and India.

With these new contracts in the Bursa, Gebze and Adapazari regions, BCM, which was already recovering 120,000 tonnes of metal a year in Turkey, will now be recovering 180,000 tonnes a year.

Founded in 1899, BCM is a key player in the automotive, rail and aerospace industries. By 2022, the SUEZ Group subsidiary had recovered over 1.8 million tonnes of scrap metal in Europe, South America and Asia, equivalent to 1,955,000 tonnes of CO2 avoided.
