Precision System Science Co., Ltd. announced consolidated earnings results for the nine months ended March 31, 2017. For the period, the company reported net sales of JPY 2,833 million compared to JPY 3,379 million a year ago. Operating loss was JPY 367 million compared to JPY 429 million a year ago. Ordinary loss was JPY 344 million compared to JPY 484 million a year ago. Net loss attributable to the parent company shareholder JPY 311 million compared to JPY 437 million a year ago. Net loss per share was JPY 15.00 compared to JPY 21.85 a year ago. Income before income taxes and others was JPY 342,882,000 compared to JPY 481,250,000 a year ago.
The company provided consolidated earnings guidance for the full year ending June 30, 2017. For the year, the company expects sales of JPY 4,400 million, operating loss of JPY 590 million, ordinary loss of JPY 610 million and net loss attributable to parent company shareholders of JPY 620 million or JPY 29.87 per share.
Precision System Science Co., Ltd. is engaged in the development, manufacture and sales of various devices for lab (laboratory) automation and clinical diagnosis. The equipment business provides various automated equipment for lab such as deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) automatic extractors and others, immunochemical luminescence measuring devices, specimen pretreatment devices for clinical diagnosis, and fully automated gene diagnostic equipment, among others. The reagents and consumables business provide various reagents used for DNA extraction and protein purification, as well as dedicated plastic consumables such as reaction vessel and others. The maintenance-related segment is engaged in equipment maintenance business, and the sales of spare parts (replacement parts). The contract manufacturing business is engaged in the contract manufacturing business.
