Precision System Science Co., Ltd. announced consolidated earnings results for the nine months ended March 31, 2018. For the period, the company reported net sales of JPY 2,582.13 million as compared to JPY 2,833.407 million a year ago. Operating loss was JPY 329.005 million as compared to JPY 367.793 million a year ago. Loss attributable to owners of parent was JPY 340.398 million as compared to JPY 311.446 million a year ago. Ordinary loss was JPY 329.665 million as compared to JPY 344.075 million a year ago. Net loss per share were JPY 14.76 as compared to JPY 15.00 a year ago. Loss before income taxes and others was JPY 331.792 million as compared to JPY 342.882 million a year ago.
The company provided earnings results guidance for the year ending June 30, 2018. For the year, the company expects net sales of JPY 4,000 million, Operating loss of JPY 400 million, Ordinary loss of JPY 420 million, Loss attributable to owners of parent of JPY 430 million and net loss per share of JPY 18.64.
Precision System Science Co., Ltd. is engaged in the development, manufacture and sales of various devices for lab (laboratory) automation and clinical diagnosis. The equipment business provides various automated equipment for lab such as deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) automatic extractors and others, immunochemical luminescence measuring devices, specimen pretreatment devices for clinical diagnosis, and fully automated gene diagnostic equipment, among others. The reagents and consumables business provide various reagents used for DNA extraction and protein purification, as well as dedicated plastic consumables such as reaction vessel and others. The maintenance-related segment is engaged in equipment maintenance business, and the sales of spare parts (replacement parts). The contract manufacturing business is engaged in the contract manufacturing business.
