Lhyfe: Sealhyfe platform returns to port
Under test since September 2022, first at dockside and then at sea, the project has stored millions of data sets relating to the production of green hydrogen at sea, and has enabled Lhyfe to experiment with offshore operating conditions, explains the group.
The mission of this pilot - the first of its kind in the world - was to demonstrate the technical feasibility of such a project, and to provide Lhyfe with the operational experience needed to rapidly scale up.
These results will be used in particular in the context of stage 2 of its development of hydrogen production at sea, the European 'Hope' project, which the French group is coordinating as part of a consortium of nine partners.
When commercialized, scheduled for 2026, this unprecedentedly large-scale project (10 MW) will produce up to four tonnes per day of green hydrogen at sea, which will be exported to land by pipeline, compressed and distributed to customers.
