Grupo Bafar, S.A.B. de C.V. reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2023. For the third quarter, the company reported sales was MXN 6,197.59 million compared to MXN 6,121.55 million a year ago. Net loss was MXN 4.29 million compared to net income of MXN 190.26 million a year ago. Basic loss per share from continuing operations was MXN 0.01 compared to basic earnings per share from continuing operations of MXN 0.61 a year ago. Diluted loss per share from continuing operations was MXN 0.01 compared to diluted earnings per share from continuing operations of MXN 0.61 a year ago.
For the nine months, sales was MXN 18,673.83 million compared to MXN 18,159.22 million a year ago. Net income was MXN 2,035.36 million compared to MXN 931.7 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was MXN 6.56 compared to MXN 3 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was MXN 6.56 compared to MXN 3 a year ago.
Grupo Bafar SAB de CV is a Mexico-based holding company principally engaged, through its subsidiaries, in the food industry. The Company operates through seven business divisions: Consumption Products Division (DPC), which is engaged in the supply of meat, processed meats and dairy products; Retail, which operates the CarneMart and BIF stores; Manufacturing; Logistics, active in the storage and distribution of the products; Cattle Trade, engaged in the breeding of cattle and supplies BIF stores with meat; Poultry Division, responsible for the production and sale of poultry and eggs, and Exports. In addition, the Company markets its products under such brands as Parma, Campestre, Sabori, Bafar, Burr, La Zona, Tres Castillos and Western Grillers, among others. The Company is also active in the provision of travel agency services. As of December 31, 2011 the Company owned such subsidiaries as Intercarnes SA de CV and Intercarnes Texas Co, Cibalis SA de CV and Aiax SA de CV, among others.
