Grupo Bafar, S.A.B. de C.V. reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2022. For the second quarter, the company reported sales was MXN 6,230.86 million compared to MXN 4,935.65 million a year ago. Net income was MXN 275.99 million compared to MXN 425.59 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was MXN 0.89 compared to MXN 1.35 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was MXN 0.89 compared to MXN 1.35 a year ago.
For the six months, sales was MXN 12,037.68 million compared to MXN 9,363.5 million a year ago. Net income was MXN 741.45 million compared to MXN 704.61 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was MXN 2.39 compared to MXN 2.24 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was MXN 2.39 compared to MXN 2.24 a year ago.
Grupo Bafar SAB de CV is a Mexico-based holding company principally engaged, through its subsidiaries, in the food industry. The Company operates through seven business divisions: Consumption Products Division (DPC), which is engaged in the supply of meat, processed meats and dairy products; Retail, which operates the CarneMart and BIF stores; Manufacturing; Logistics, active in the storage and distribution of the products; Cattle Trade, engaged in the breeding of cattle and supplies BIF stores with meat; Poultry Division, responsible for the production and sale of poultry and eggs, and Exports. In addition, the Company markets its products under such brands as Parma, Campestre, Sabori, Bafar, Burr, La Zona, Tres Castillos and Western Grillers, among others. The Company is also active in the provision of travel agency services. As of December 31, 2011 the Company owned such subsidiaries as Intercarnes SA de CV and Intercarnes Texas Co, Cibalis SA de CV and Aiax SA de CV, among others.
