Dong-A Socio Holdings Co., Ltd. (KOSE:A000640) agreed to acquire an additional 29.4% stake in DM Bio, Ltd. from Meiji Seika Pharma Co., Ltd for KRW 42.1 billion on July 23, 2021. Consideration shall be payable in cash on completion. As per the transaction, Dong-A Socio Holdings will acquire an additional 1.12 million shares. Post completion, buyer will hold 3.06 million shares representing 80.4% stake of DM Bio, Ltd. The Board of Directors has passed the resolution for the transaction. Completion is expected on September 30, 2021.
Dong-A Socio Holdings Co Ltd is a Korea-based company mainly engaged in the production and sale of pharmaceuticals. The Company operates its business through five segments. The Medicine Manufacturing segment is engaged in the manufacture and sale of pharmaceuticals. The main pharmaceuticals include tonic medicines, cold medicines, raw material medicines. The Logistic segment is involved in the freight, courier, car transportation, freight warehousing and leasing business. The Packaging segment is engaged in manufacturing and sale of glass and glass products. The Holding Company segment is engaged in the provision of core companies and management consulting services.
