Caxton and CTP Publishers and Printers Limited (JSE:CAT) agreed to acquire Media operations of Media24 in KwaZulu-Natal from Media24 Proprietary Limited on February 28, 2022. The transaction includes The Witness, Weekend Witness and two community newspapers, Echo and the Greytown Gazette. The vast majority of staff members currently employed within the operations will be transferred.
The transaction is expected to be concluded and the business transferred to Capital Newspaper by July 1, 2022.
