Brim hf. (ICSE:BRIM) signed a contract to acquire Fiskvinnslan Kambur hf. and Grábrók ehf. for ISK 3.1 billion on October 21, 2019. The purchase price for Fiskvinnslan Kambur is ISK 2.3 billion and will be paid in part with shares in Brim. Brim has then agreed to pay ISK 772 million for Grabrok. If the acquisition is successful, Brim will exceed the statutory quota limit for cod longline catching. Kambur will continue to be run in its present premises as an independent subsidiary of Brim. The agreement is subject to normal conditions, including financing, approval of the Brim board and the country’s competition authority, as well as other regulators. As of May 5, 2020, The Icelandic Competition Authority investigated the purchase of Brim hf. of all the shares in Fiskvinnslan Kambur hf. and Grábrók ehf and postponed the final decision on the acquisition of control in Brim.
