What Apple has not yet managed to do, Xiaomi has already managed to do: its first electric car. It is a sedan named SU7.

The two models have Nvidia Drive Orin processors for autonomous functions. Xiaomi plans to test autonomous cars in over 100 Chinese cities by the end of 2024.

The regular SU7 is a rear-wheel-drive EV with 73.6kWh battery. This version also supports 400V charging only and a range of 668 kilometers. The SU7 Max has a larger 101kWh battery with 800V charging architecture. This one promises a 220km range.

The electric car will have a HyperOS operating system running with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8295 processor. The car should also support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Behind the two front seats will be holders for Xiaomi Pad tablets.

Xiaomi is best known as a manufacturer of smartphones, tablets and laptops.

It is not known whether the cars will be available for sale outside China.
