(MT Newswires) -- Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi reports a 24% year-on-year increase in rides, totalling 2.6 billion rides. Khosrowshahi points out that, although it is more difficult to sustain such growth, gross bookings forecasts remain strong, with expected growth of between 18% and 23%.

In the delivery sector, Uber Eats continues to expand with annual growth of 17%, and continues to accelerate compared to previous quarters. The company is focusing on reliability, with a 25% reduction in order errors over the year. The number of partner restaurants has increased by 10%, reaching almost one million worldwide.

Uber is also entering the grocery delivery market, a broader sector than online food delivery. Their grocery delivery service is still in its infancy, but is growing at an annual rate of over 40% and currently generates sales of $7 billion.
