TV Azteca, S.A.B. De C.V. Announced earnings results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2021. For the second quarter, the company announced sales was MXN 2,979.851 million compared to MXN 1,856.741 million a year ago. Operating income was MXN 484.935 million compared to operating loss of MXN 175.598 million a year ago. Net income was MXN 281.952 million compared to net loss of MXN 708.132 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share was MXN 0.1 compared to basic loss per share of MXN 0.1 a year ago. For the half year, sales was MXN 5,649.006 million compared to MXN 4,318.651 million a year ago. Operating income was MXN 920.542 million compared to operating loss of MXN 712.319 million a year ago. Net income was MXN 802,000 compared to net loss of MXN 3,484.133 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share was MXN 0.1 compared to basic loss per share of MXN 0.1 a year ago.
TV Azteca SAB de CV (TV Azteca) is a Mexico-based company engaged in the production, broadcasting, marketing of free-to-air television shows and selling advertising spots. The Company operates four national networks through around 460 digital transmitters throughout Mexico that air diverse programming genres, such as live entertainment, reality, sports, musical, variety and talent shows, series and newscasts in Spanish. The Company owns one Mexican first-division soccer team, and the TV Azteca Digital platform. In addition, it operates a fiber optic network in Peru. Some of its content is aired in the United States, Canada, Latin America, and Europe through broadcast or pay TV systems, and it also has been exported to more than 100 countries. TV Azteca has strategic alliances with different content providers for the broadcasting of TV shows and movies.
