Thales announced today that it has inaugurated a new test center dedicated to the F126 program (named after the German F126 frigates), alongside the German Navy and the Bundeswehr Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw).
Located in Hengelo, the Netherlands, the new test center will serve as a hub for collaboration between the various program partners, providing them with a physical environment in which to innovate and co-create solutions to meet customer needs.
In particular, it will enable the prototyping, validation, integration and testing of systems prior to shipment to the frigate construction site in Germany.
The opening of this test center is an important milestone in the program to deliver the first frigate, scheduled for 2028.
