Teixeira Duarte, S.A. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2012. For the quarter, the company's operating revenue was EUR 428,148,000 compared to EUR 315,036,000 a year ago. EBITDA was EUR 52,450,000 compared to LBITDA of EUR 1,529,000 a year ago. EBIT was EUR 30,853,000 compared to LBIT of EUR 15,579,000 a year ago. Profit before tax was EUR 34,176,000 compared to loss before tax of EUR 59,873,000 a year ago. Net income attributable to shareholders was EUR 18,357,000 compared to net loss attributable to shareholders of EUR 71,282,000 a year ago.
For the year, the company's operating revenue was EUR 1,440,101,000 compared to EUR 1,262,957,000 a year ago. EBITDA was EUR 209,095,000 compared to EUR 117,314,000 a year ago. EBIT was EUR 143,243,000 compared to EUR 51,350,000 a year ago. Profit before tax was EUR 63,182,000 compared to loss before tax of EUR 193,230,000 a year ago. Net income attributable to shareholders was EUR 24,003,000 compared to net loss attributable to shareholders of EUR 200,437,000 a year ago. Net debt was EUR 989.9 million.
Teixeira Duarte, S.A. is one of the largest Portuguese economic groups. The group is organized in six different sectors such as Construction (63.5% of sales), Concessions and Services (10.7%), Retail (10.7%), Real Estate (7.1%), Hospitality (4.3%) and Automotive (3.7%).
Construction has been Teixeira Duarte Group's core business since its formation, as well as the activity of the principal company of the Group, Teixeira Duarte - Engenharia e Construções, S.A., which operates in the areas of Geotechnics and Rehabilitation, Buildings, Infrastructures, Mechanical Engineering, Underground Works, Railway Works and Maritime Works supported by a Shuttering and Prestressing Operating Centre, a large-scale and highly technological Equipment Department, a Materials Laboratory and a Teixeira Duarte Operating Centre installed on a plot of land covering an area of 127,000 m2 and which is of enormous benefit to the Company and services rendered to its customers.
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: Portugal (34.2%), Brazil (25%), Angola (21.5%), Mozambique (4.1%), Spain (1.6%) and other (13.6%).
