CUXHAFEN (dpa-AFX) - The wind power and photovoltaic project developer PNE aims to generate at least a stable profit in its day-to-day business this year. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) should reach between EUR 40 and 50 million in 2024, the company announced in Cuxhafen on Wednesday. Last year, PNE earned euro 39.9 million, almost 13 percent more than in 2022, reaching the upper end of the target range set by management. The company thus performed better in 2023 than analysts expected on average, but experts have more operating profit on the cards for 2024. As in the previous year, shareholders are to be paid both a regular dividend and a special dividend of EUR 0.04 per share for 2023.

Group CEO Markus Lesser believes the company is well positioned for the future: "The project pipeline has reached another record high," he said in a statement on Wednesday. "Our foundations for the future are therefore in place." Lesser will step down from his position at the end of July./lew/mis
