Following an in-depth investigation, the European Commission announced today that it has cleared the proposed acquisition of VOO and Brutélé by Orange.

Until then, the Commission had been concerned about the potential competition problems that this transaction would generate.

To address these concerns, Orange has undertaken to provide Telenet with access to the existing fixed network infrastructure it is acquiring from VOO and Brutélé in the Walloon Region and parts of Brussels, for at least 10 years.

Orange also undertakes to provide Telenet with the future fiber optic network (FTTP) to be rolled out in the coming years, making the commitments sustainable.

The Commission has therefore concluded that the proposed transaction, as modified by the commitments, would no longer raise competition concerns.
