Spain's Minister for Ecological Transition, Teresa Ribera, said Thursday that it is still early for the government to evaluate a possible stake in Spanish energy company Naturgy.

Abu Dhabi-based TAQA confirmed Wednesday that it is in talks with Naturgy's three largest shareholders with a view to a possible full takeover bid for the company.

According to Ribera, the government will have to analyze whether or not it makes sense for the state to participate in the energy company and prudence is still needed.
