Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2023. For the second quarter, the company reported net interest income was PHP 25,709 million compared to PHP 20,516 million a year ago. Net income was PHP 10,416 million compared to PHP 7,600 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was PHP 2.32 compared to PHP 1.69 a year ago.
For the six months, net interest income was PHP 50,578 million compared to PHP 39,817 million a year ago. Net income was PHP 20,898 million compared to PHP 15,586 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was PHP 4.65 compared to PHP 3.47 a year ago.
Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company (the Bank) is a Philippines-based universal bank. The Bank and its subsidiaries are engaged in all aspects of banking, financing, leasing and stock brokering.
