Meiji Shipping Co., Ltd. announced consolidated earnings results for the nine months ended December 31, 2016. For the nine months, the company reported net sales of JPY 934,087 million against JPY 914,362 million a year ago. Operating income was JPY 67,940 million against JPY 59,295 million a year ago. Ordinary income was JPY 67,303 million against JPY 62,420 million a year ago. Net income attributable to shareholders of the parent company was JPY 46,265 million against JPY 51,205 million a year ago. Net income per share was JPY 314.26 against JPY 347.79 a year ago. Income before income taxes was JPY 70,504 million against JPY 77,151 million a year ago.
For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2017, the company expects to pay a year-end dividend of JPY 65.00 per share, compared with JPY 62.50 per share for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2016.
For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2017, the company expects consolidated net sales of JPY 1,251,000 million, operating income of JPY 84,500 million, ordinary income of JPY 84,300 million, net income attributable to shareholders of the parent company of JPY 56,500 million, and net income per share of JPY 383.78.
For the second half of fiscal year 2017, the company expects consolidated net sales of JPY 644,200 million, operating income of JPY 47,100 million, ordinary income of JPY 48,200 million, and net income attributable to shareholders of the parent company of JPY 32,100 million.
