Lumentum Holdings Inc. announced the appointment of Jae Kim as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, reporting to Alan Lowe, President and Chief Executive Officer. In this role, Kim will be responsible for leading Lumentum?s Legal department, including Corporate Affairs, Commercial Transactions, Trade Compliance, and Intellectual Property. He will also be responsible for Facilities, Real Estate and Security.

Kim succeeds Judy Hamel, who will be retiring from Lumentum after serving as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary since 2015. She previously held the role of Senior Corporate Counsel at Lumentum?s parent company, JDSU, beginning in 2012. Kim has over 25 years of experience in corporate law, most recently serving as Chief Administrative and Legal Officer at GlobalLogic Inc., a Hitachi Group Company.

In this role, he oversaw all corporate legal matters, as well as Governance, Enterprise Risk Management and Insurance, Compliance, and Facilities and Employee Services. Prior to GlobalLogic, he was SVP, General Counsel at Rambus Inc., responsible for all legal matters, including Litigation, IP development, M&A, Corporate Governance and Compliance. Earlier in his career, Kim held senior legal roles at Altran/Aricent and Electronics for Imaging Inc. He also served as an attorney at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati, a prominent Silicon Valley law firm, and as an attorney for the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Kim earned his bachelor?s degree in Economics from Boston University and his law degree from American University, Washington College of Law. He is a member of the California and New York State Bars.
