The pharmaceutical group Rovi said it is not under legal proceedings for alleged public aid that it denies having received, denying a media report that led the stock to drop 6.7% in the stock market on Wednesday.

"The company is not a party to any legal proceedings regarding public aid, nor has it received any notification in this regard," the company said.

"The company does not know the origin of the figures mentioned in the published news and, in any case, categorically denies that it has received such amounts of public aid in 2009 or in any other period," it added.

Laboratorios Rovi closed Wednesday's session with a sharp drop of 6.73%, its biggest daily fall in more than six months, after a slight fall on Tuesday that followed seven sessions of increases in which it accumulated an advance of 5.15%. For the year as a whole, Rovi accumulates an advance of 14.6%.
