Karlovarské minerální vody, a.s. and Kofola CeskoSlovensko a.s. (SEP:KOFOL) signed an agreement to acquire a 66.666667% stake in General Plastic, A. S. from GP Alliance, s.r.o. on December 2, 2021. GP Alliance, s.r.o. will retain the remaining third of the shares. In 2020, General Plastic, A. S. generated annual sales of 17 million. The transaction is subject to satisfaction of conditions precedent, in particular the approval of the competition authorities.
Karlovarské minerální vody, a.s. and Kofola CeskoSlovensko a.s. (SEP:KOFOL) completed the acquisition of 66.666667% stake in General Plastic, A. S. from GP Alliance, s.r.o. on May 16, 2023. The transaction was initially reviewed by the antitrust authorities in Slovakia as well as in the Czech Republic but later it is concluded that the transaction is not subject to antitrust approval. All other conditions for settlement of the transaction have been met.
Kofola ?eskoSlovensko a.s. is one of the leading producers of soft drinks in Europe. Net sales break down by family of products as follows:
- soft drinks (38.1%): Kofola, Vinea, Hoop Cola, etc. ;
- bottled waters (33.4%): table water (Radenska and Rajec brands);
- non-carbonated beverages (9.1%);
- syrups (7.7%): Jupi and Paola brands;
- fresh drinks and salads (3.7%);
- other (8%): including energy drinks, isotonic drinks, tea, coffee, juices and smoothies.
At the end of 2021, the group operated 11 production sites located in Europe.
Net sales break down geographically as follows: Czech Republic (54.5%), Slovakia (25.1%), Slovenia (11.4%), Croatia (5.6%), Poland (1.4%) and other (2%).
