KazTransOil JSC General Director (Chairman of the Board) Talgat Kurmanbaev paid a working visit to the main oil pumping station «Aktau» of the Mangistau oil pipeline department of KazTransOil JSC. As part of his visit to the Mangistau region, Talgat Kurmanbaev also got acquainted with the current activities of the Aktau port, where he studied the conditions of the maritime logistics hub for servicing the increasing cargo flow.

In January and February 2024, the volume of transportation of Kazakh oil for export from the port of Aktau amounted to 563 thousand tons, including 232 thousand tons in the direction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline.

At the end of 2023, the loading of oil into tankers in the port of Aktau using the facilities of KazTransOil JSC amounted to 3 million 376 thousand tons, including 1 million 057 thousand tons in the direction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline.

On 11 March in Baku, Azerbaijan, NC KazMunayGas JSC (KMG) and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) signed the Agreement on Phased Increase in the Volumes of Kazakh Oil Transit across the Territory of the Azerbaijan Republic and the Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation in Sale and Purchase of the Kazakh Oil. This Agreement provides for an increase in the volume of shipments of Kazakh oil along the route Aktau port - Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline to 2.2 million tons per year.

In 2022, JSC NC KazMunayGas and the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan SOCAR entered into an Agreement on the transit of oil along the route Aktau port - Baku - Tbilisi - Ceyhan with an annual volume of up to 1.5 million tons.
