Jordan Phosphates Mines Company and Chongqing Minmetal and Machinery Import and Export Co have signed a memorandum of understanding to build a $1.3 billion production facility at Aqaba in Jordan. The first phase of the project will cost $350 million and the plant will use raw material from JPMC and the Arab Potash Company. Upon completion, the plants would produce 200,000 tonnes of phosphoric acid and 600,000 tonnes of sulphuric acid.
