Ben Xia, Head of Interroll Asia, Named "Person of the Year in China's Logistics Sector" Shanghai, China - Sant'Antonino, Switzerland, 3 April 2015. Ben Xia, Executive Vice-President of Interroll Group and Head of Asian Operations, was recently named among the 10 "People of the Year in China's Logistics Sector" at the 2015 China Logistics Technology Summit & the 2014 China Logistics Technology (LT) Award Ceremony.

The LT Awards are an annual program initiated by Soo56.com, a leading search engine service provider in the logistics sector. Billed as the "Oscars of China's logistics sector," the award acknowledges the leading companies and people who make major contributions to the advancement of logistics technology, equipment, applications in China, and social development. The selection process took about three months and winners were chosen after online voting by more than 2,000 users in the logistics sector and a panel of judges comprised of industry experts.
"The LT Award is a major acknowledgement for Interroll Asia's rapid expansion and sound performance in the region in the past year. We will work even harder to create more value for China's logistics sector with our relentless innovation and long-term commitment to the country," said Xia.
The 2015 China Logistics Technology Summit was themed "Foreseeing the New LT Ecosystem" and grouped experts, scholars, and representatives from leading businesses including China Post, Suning, Jd.com, and Amway, as well as logistics technology providers. While receiving the award, Xia discussed with participants how the logistics technology and equipment sector can achieve breakthroughs in China's "New Normal." As the leading market player, Interroll is still optimistic about the logistics sector, Xia said, adding that Interroll will strive to build a balanced ecosystem and accelerate the industry's healthy development by introducing more logistics expertise, technology, and experience to China while boosting innovation and investment throughout the country.
In the past year, Interroll has achieved rapid business growth and strengthened its market position in Asia Pacific. In March 2014, Interroll inaugurated its new Asian Headquarters in Shanghai, joining the Interroll Center of Excellence in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, to provide even better service and support to customers across Asia. In July 2014, Interroll acquired Pert Engineering in Shenzhen, giving customers direct access to high-quality belt curves from Interroll. Moreover, after the acquisition, Shenzhen has become Interroll's fourth location in China, following Suzhou, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. Interroll has now fully localized its manufacturing activities in China.
Interroll serves a number of industries in China, including post and express delivery, e-commerce, airports, and food processing, which show strong demand for internal logistics services, making the country one of the company's most strategically important markets. The State Post Bureau recently published an index for
the country's express delivery sector that showed China became the world's largest express delivery market in 2014. According to a blueprint by the Civil Aviation Administration, China plans to build 80 new civil airports during the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-15). The Chinese people's growing concern with food safety is resulting in stringent hygiene standards that could benefit logistics service providers.
Bolstered by the booming logistics sector which is demanding more automatic storage and smart logistics solutions, Interroll is now embracing unprecedented business opportunities in China. In 2014 the company saw its net sales in China increase 26% year on year, spearheading its growth in Asia. The company won a
