Hartshead Resources NL announced the appointment of Simon Haworth as Development Geologist and Subsurface Team Lead as the Company continues to strengthen its operational capability. Simon brings over 20 years' international experience as a geoscientist with a skill set developed across the upstream energy, carbon capture and storage (CCS) and geothermal sectors and joins Hartshead from CNOOC International where he was working on the UK North Sea Buzzard field infill drilling portfolio. Through a variety of roles in the UK North Sea, Australia, onshore Netherlands and Papua New Guinea Simon has gained a wealth of experience across the entire E&P cycle from exploration, through to appraisal, development and late-stage hydrocarbon projects.

With particularly strong project appraisal and development skills, Simon's experience in this area will bring valuable benefits and insights to Hartshead's Phase I development of the Anning and Somerville gas fields. Simon spent the majority of his career with Shell in Australia and the Netherlands as a Senior Geologist working on a number of appraisal and development campaigns together with infill drilling and well optimisation planning for onshore gas assets. In addition to Shell Simon has held Senior Geologist roles at Oil Search, Nexen and a number of respected energy sector service companies giving him valuable commercial, risk management and leadership experience whilst maintaining a highly technical skill-set critical for Hartshead's Subsurface Team Lead role.

Simon holds an MSc in Petroleum Geology from the University of Aberdeen and an MSc in Engineering Geology from the University of Portsmouth.
