Handok appointing former head of Korea's top car sharing firm SoCar as its new president. Handok named Cho Jeong-yol to replace Kim Chul-joon, who has been managing the company for the past 10 years under CEO and Chairman Kim Young-jin. With the appointment, Cho became the first female president in the company's history (beginning in 1954) and the second among Korean pharmaceutical firms, following Yoo Hui-won at Bukwang Pharmaceutical. Cho's appointment is an unconventional move for Handok, as her career background has mostly been in consumer goods industries rather than drug manufacturing.
