(Alliance News) - Greatland Gold PLC on Thursday confirmed gold mineralisation and pathfinder geochemistry at its Meadows prospect in the Ernest Giles project.

Greatland Gold is an Australia-focused exploration and development company.

The firm said two diamond core holes, EGD005 and EGD006, have been completed for 1,267.7 metres, with an anomalous mineralisation of eight metres at 0.12 grams per tonne of gold, it is associated with anomalous pathfinder geochemistry.

Director Shaun Day said: "Ernest Giles is an exciting 100% owned project that sits outside our strong foothold in the Paterson region, in an underexplored Archean greenstone belt that hosts many Tier 1 deposits. These initial results are encouraging and confirm the prospectivity of the project. The results will inform further exploration work, including a more extensive drilling program this year."

Shares in Greatland Gold fell 4.3% to 7.56 pence each in London on Thursday morning.
