European ADRs Move Higher in Tuesday Trading

(MT Newswires) -- American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 0.30% higher at 1,024.06 on the S&P/BNY Mellon Europe Select ADR Index on Tuesday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by oil and gas company Eni (E) and furniture maker Natuzzi (NTZ), which rose 4.7% each. They were followed by biotech firm Forward Pharma (FWP) and semiconductor company Sequans Communications (SQNS), which increased 4.6% and 3.9% respectively.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by biopharmaceutical companies Grifols (GRFS) and argenx (ARGX), which lost 2.8% and 2.7% respectively. They were followed by medical device maker EDAP TMS (EDAP) and biopharmaceutical company ERYTECH Pharma (ERYP), which dropped 2.5% each.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biotech firm Trinity Biotech (TRIB) and oil and gas company Shell (SHEL), which rose 3.7% and 3.1% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company Avadel Pharmaceuticals (AVDL) and oil and gas company BP (BP), which were up 2.8% and 2.4%.

The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by tobacco company British American Tobacco (BTI), which lost 1.4%, followed by pharmaceutical company GSK (GSK) and electricity and gas utility company National Grid (NGG), which dropped 1.3% each. Biopharmaceutical company Verona Pharma (VRNA) was down 0.9%.
