Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) reported earnings results for the first quarter of 2017. The company has almost doubled profit after posting TZS 694.68 million in quarter one of 2017. The bourse, demutualised in 2015, attributed its profitability in the quarter mainly due to investment income that raked in TZS 597.35 million against TZS 128.1 million of first quarter in 2016. Also the second bourse in East Africa to demutualise generated its profit from listing fees after climbing up to TZS 567.54 million from TZS 411 million.
