COMPANHIA ESTADUAL DE DISTRIBUIÇÃO DE ENERGIA ELÉTRICA The Rio Grande do Sul state administration was able to go ahead with the privatisation of Companhia Estadual de Distribuição de Energia Elétrica (BOVESPA:CEED3) (CEEE-D). Offers are to be presented and the auction is to be held in the B3 stock exchange on March 31, 2021. CEEE-D privatisation was modelled by the development bank BNDES and faces the opposition of local groups - labour unions, political parties, etc- that have been filing cases in the justice against it.
The assets are to be offered to investors for a minimum price of BRL 50,000, while the new owners are to bear the burden of debts. Among the prospective bidders are CPFL Energia S.A. (BOVESPA:CPFE3) that has distribution operations in Rio Grande do Sul and Equatorial.
