On December 3, the 3D transparent slope geological model of Shengli Energy's open-pit mine was put into operation to improve the stability of the stope slope and ensure safe production.

During the mining process, the open-pit mine faces unknown geological factors that threaten the stability of the stope slope. In order to solve this problem, the mine conducted drilling exploration in the geological anomaly area of the slope to investigate the geological structure, lithology and water-rich characteristics of the stratum in the abnormal area of the slope through scientific and reasonable drilling methods, and established a 3D transparent geological model of the stope slope. The model uses advanced drilling technology and equipment to conduct a comprehensive exploration and evaluation of the existing slope in the mining area and the area where the slope will be formed in the future, with a total drilling depth of 5,000 meters, covering all the abnormal slopes in the No.1 mining area. With the help of the model, an appropriate slope-stabilizing mining plan has been formulated, which can not only improve the mining rate of coal resources and guarantee the sustainable utilization rate of resources but also help understand the engineering geological conditions within the mining area and ensure the mine's safe production and stable operation.

Presently, the 3D transparent slope geological model of the mine can effectively identify the distribution trend of the weak layer in the upper part of the roof of the No.5 coal stratum as well as the groundwater situation in the upper part of the No.5 coal stratum and the lower part of the No.6 coal stratum, analyze the stability of the slope and the base bearing capacity of the inner dumping site within the stope, realize the early identification and treatment of potential landslide areas, and ensure the safe production of the open-pit mine.
