LAVAL, Quebec (AP) — LAVAL, Quebec (AP) — Bausch Health Companies Inc. (BHC) on Thursday reported a loss of $39 million in its fourth quarter.

The Laval, Quebec-based company said it had a loss of 11 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $1.15 per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.01 per share.

The drugmaker posted revenue of $2.41 billion in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.25 billion.

For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $592 million, or $1.62 per share. Revenue was reported as $8.76 billion.

Bausch shares have climbed 8% since the beginning of the year. The stock has dropped 2% in the last 12 months.
