--ArcelorMittal has suspended production at peak times at some of its European plants amid rising energy costs, the Financial Times reports.

--The steelmaker said it had to pause production at times aligned with hourly and daily changes in electricity prices at some of its electric arc furnaces that make long steel products typically used in the construction sector, the FT reports.

--The company said the stoppages wouldn't have a meaningful impact on production volumes or ability to meet customer demand, according to the FT.
