Amazon Web Services said Monday that it will invest more than $5 billion in its infrastructure in Mexico over the next 15 years.

The cloud business of Amazon.com, better known as AWS, said it plans to launch an infrastructure region in Mexico by early 2025, establishing data centers there that will allow customers to store their content in the region.

The new region will serve demand for cloud services across Latin America, AWS said.

Amazon Web Services plans to hire and develop additional local workers to operate and support the new infrastructure region.
