*1 Figures are for domestic retail sales only and do not include domestic wholesale or event sales figures or overseas sales.

*2 Figures for store sales and number of stores include directly managed stores and VSPA (Virtual SPA), but they do not include figures for FC (Franchise) stores or overseas stores.

number of same stores on a monthly basis. Therefore, stores that have been relocated or closed for more than a day due to renovations have been excluded from the results of same stores. Same stores, which are closed or operating with reduced hours under the state of emergency, remain included. Additionally, online sales are not included in Same-Store Sales.

*4 Online Sales figures represent total sales by World Group brand companies through their own and other companies' websites.

*5 For September 2023, Domestic Sales was revised from 99.9% to 99.6%, Store Sales from 100.5% to 100.4%, and Online Sales from 97.6% to 96.6%, all indicated by an underline.

• Domestic sales for the month were 102.2% of those for the same period of the previous year, consisting of 100.7% of store sales and 108.4% of online sales, while same-store sales were 103.7%. There was

one fewer holiday compared to the same month of the previous year, and this was estimated to have had a negative impact of about 1.7% on a same-store-sales basis. Same-store sales for the month were 102.9% of the pre-Covid level in FY2019, exceeding that level for the first time, while a decline in demand (-4.7%) due to the consumption tax hike in October 2019 has lowered the bar. The business forecasts announced at the beginning of the fiscal year have remained unchanged following the interim results disclosed today, and we plan for a same-store sales growth rate of 103.7% year-on-year (105.1% compared to October 2019) in October. As a result, the second half of the year is off to a good start and in line with our plans.

• In a complete turn from the high temperatures of September, the temperature was lower at the beginning of October, resulting in a surge in the demand for autumn merchandise. As warmer temperatures

returned toward the end of the month, same-store sales maintained a trend of exceeding the previous year's level. Autumn outerwear and knitwear sold well through the online sales channel, and sales promotion measures were successful in attracting customers. As customers continue to return to in-store shopping, online sales were 108.4% compared to the same month of the previous year, which was the year-on-year growth rate of the in-store sales channel.

• As for product categories, with more cooler mornings and evenings, knitted items and jackets that can be worn until early winter sold well from the beginning of October. Among miscellaneous goods, indoor

products, such as fur blankets and large capes, have sold well from the second half of the month. In the area of brands, mainstays in the SC channel, such as OPAQUE.CLIP and THE SHOP TK, significantly increased same-storesales, while Dessin, index, and RAGTAG also grew by double digits. In addition, apparel brands also performed well.
