SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco International Airport (SFO), which launched its 'Quiet Airport' program in 2018 to reduce terminal noise, announced the debut of a Silent Disco, in which passengers are invited to dance along to San Francisco-themed music using their own headphones. Dubbed 'San Fran-disco', the silent dance party will run from February 14 - March 15, 2024 in the post-security area of Harvey Milk Terminal 1.

A long-term inverstment of over EUR 38 mln, the new facility will provide recurrent training for over 4800 pilots per year
Wizz Air, the fastest-growing airline in Europe and most environmentally sustainable airline globally*, announces that it will open its second training center in 2024, which will be located in Rome, Italy. The new 2500+ square meters facility will be within walking distance from the T1 of Rome Fiumicino Airport, housing three full-flight simulators for recurrent training of over 4800 Wizz Air pilots yearly. The total investment into the market exceeds 38 million euros.
Briefing rooms and rooms for theoretical trainings will take up 1290 square meters on two floors, while nearly 600 square meters will be devoted to the simulator hall with three ultra-modern full flight Airbus A320 family simulators. Each simulator can accomodate up to 135 pilots per month, ensuring recurrent training for up to 4800+ pilots per year. The reconstruction has already began, with facility set to open for theoretical trainings in May 2024, while the simulators will be installed until the end of the year.
This is the second training center for Wizz Air. The first one was unveiled five years ago in Budapest, equipped with three CAE 7000X series full-flight Airbus A320 family simulators, one fixed simulator and a cabin emergency procedure training tool. The facility allows Wizz Air to provide initial training for up to 300 cadet pilots simultaneously as well as train 1,500 flight attendants per year. In five years since its opening, cadets and experienced pilots who take part in recurrent training have completed a total of more than 83,000 flight hours, i.e. roughly 9 and a half years of flying on three simulators.
