Williams have appointed Francois-Xavier Demaison as the Formula One team's new technical director, with the Frenchman joining from Volkswagen at an unspecified date. Demaison last worked at Volkswagen and helped them win four rally world championship titles 2013-2016. There he already worked together with Jost Capito who is now Williams CEO. Demaison has also worked at Peugeot's engine programme for some Formula One experience. The technical director position at Williams had been vacant since the departure of Paddy Lowe during the 2019 season.
