European ADRs Move Lower in Thursday Trading

(MT Newswires) -- American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 0.5% lower at 980.10 on the S&P/BNY Mellon Europe Select ADR Index on Thursday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by 3D printer company voxeljet (VJET) and financial services company ING (ING), which rose 5.2% and 3.9%, respectively. They were followed by electronics maker Philips (PHG) and financial services company Banco Santander (SAN), which added 3.6% and 3.3%, respectively.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by biotech firm Forward Pharma (FWP) and dating app owner Spark Networks (LOV), which declined 7.9% and 4.9%, respectively. They were followed by telecommunications company Ericsson (ERIC) and biopharmaceutical company Genfit (GNFT), which declined 3.1% and 2.6%, respectively.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company NuCana (NCNA) and cruise line operator Carnival (CUK), which added 7% and 5.3%, respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Amarin (AMRN) and financial services company Lloyds Banking Group (LYG), which rose 4.1% and 2.4%, respectively.

The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by biotech firm Trinity Biotech (TRIB) and electricity and gas utility company National Grid (NGG), which declined 2.4% and 2.2%, respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical firm Avadel Pharmaceuticals (AVDL) and energy firm BP (BP), which declined 2.1% and 2%, respectively.
