Vinci has announced that, following an auction organized by Brazil's National Electrical Energy Agency (ANEEL) for some 6,000 km of new electrical transmission lines divided into nine lots, its subsidiary CobraIS has been awarded three lots via its own Brazilian subsidiaries.

The first lot concerns a 349 km-long 500 kV transmission line and the extension of two existing substations in the state of Minas Gerais. The associated investment is in the region of 150 million euros.

The other two design-build lots, for Companhia de Transmissão de Energia Elétrica Paulista (CTEEP), are valued at a total of around 570 million euros.

One contract covers a total length of 1,092 km, as well as three new substations in the states of Minas Gerais and Bahiat, while the other is 507 km long, and includes a new substation in the states of Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro.

Vinci recalls that Cobra IS has completed over 32,000 km of power lines in Brazil over the past twenty years.
