BEST FEBRUARY EVER FOR PASSENGER TRAFFIC

IN THE TUSCAN AIRPORT SYSTEM (+14.7% COMPARED TO FEB. 2023)

Florence, March 6, 2024 - The Tuscan Airport System recorded the best February in its history, with more than 443 thousand passengers, an increase of +14.7% compared to February 2023. This result was achieved thanks to an increase in both the total number of movements (+8.4% compared to February 2023) and the load factor (ratio between passengers carried and seats offered), which rose by around 3 percentage points compared to the previous year, from 81.1% to 84.0%.

In the first two months of 2024, the Tuscan Airport System recorded a total of over 903 thousand passengers, with growth of +11.5% compared to the same period in 2023.

Florence's Amerigo Vespucci airport recorded a new record month with more than 192 thousand passengers, marking the best February ever with a growth of +32.2% compared to 2023. These results are supported by the growth in total flight movements (+22.5% compared to 2023) and the load factor, which reached 78.9% (+2.3 percentage points). In February, both domestic (+88.7%) and international (+26.1%) traffic increased compared to 2023. In the ranking of the most popular destinations for passengers at Florence airport in February 2024 are Paris, London, Amsterdam, Rome and Madrid. In total, in the first two months of 2024, both record months for Florence airport, 387,000 passengers passed through, an increase of +32.3% compared to the same period in 2023.

As for Pisa's Galileo Galilei airport, more than 250 thousand passengers passed through in February, an increase of +4.1% compared to the same month in 2023, a clear recovery compared to the previous month of January, when a decrease of 4.1% was recorded. The higher load factor recorded in February 2024 (+4.2 percentage points; 88.3%) more than offset the decrease in total flight movements (-5.1%). During the month, international passenger traffic increased (+12.6%) while domestic traffic decreased (-10.7%). The most popular destinations in February were Tirana, London, Palermo, Paris and Catania. Total passenger traffic at Pisa airport in the first two months of the year reached over 516 thousand passengers, in line (-0.3%) with traffic in the same period of 2023.
