Sysco Corp. made multiple executive moves since September, including creating a new position within the company. The company promoted Greg Bertrand to global COO effective Sept.

1, Sysco wrote in an 8-K filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Aug. 29. In the newly created role, Bertrand will manage global operations.

The move reaffirms the company's commitment to growing its international business, President and CEO Kevin Hourican said during Sysco's Oct. 31 earnings call for the first quarter of its fiscal year 2024. Bertrand most recently served as executive vice president of U.S. foodservice operations for Sysco since July 2021.

He initially began his career at the company in 1991. With the promotion, Bertrand's annual base salary was increased from $783,000 to $838,000 and his target annual cash incentive opportunity was increased from 125% of his base salary to 150%. Effective at the same time, Sysco expanded the role of Thomas Peck Jr., the company's executive vice president, chief information officer and digital officer.

In an 8-K filed on Sept. 8, the company announced that Judith Sansone, Sysco's executive vice president and chief commercial officer, would retire effective Oct. 2. Finally, the company hired Jennifer Johnson as senior vice president and chief accounting officer effective Oct.

23, Sysco wrote in an 8-K filed on Oct. 17. Johnson previously served as corporate vice president and principal accounting officer at Memphis, Tennessee-based FedEx Corp.

Johnson succeeds Scott Stone, who had served as interim chief accounting officer since September 2022. He'll continue in his role as vice president of financial reporting with Johnson's appointment.
