(Alliance News) - Stellantis NV sales in Europe rose slightly in April, while in the EU market total registrations rose nearly 14 percent year-on-year.

As data from ACEA, the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association, showed Wednesday, the merged giant of PSA Groupe and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles posted a 1.7 percent increase over April 2023, with market share rising to 18.6 percent in April from 16.7 percent in April 2023.

Among the group's brands, Peugeot sold 0.1 percent fewer cars in April than in the same month a year earlier while Opel/Vauxhall recorded a 9.6 percent decrease. DS registrations, on the other hand, fell 16 percent while Citroen registrations rose 21 percent.

Fiat posted a 1.8 percent drop in sales in April while Jeep posted a 15 percent increase, Lancia/Chrysler sold 7.0 percent more cars while Alfa Romeo worsened sales by 5.0 percent.
