Cerro Verde announced earnings and production results for the third quarter and nine months of 2014. For the period, the company reported copper production of 53,268 MT, a 20% decrease compared to 66,416 MT, for the third quarter of 2013. The company reported net income of USD 85.3 million, 50% lower compared to USD 171.4 million in third quarter of 2013. This was mainly due to 27% lower sales. EBITDA totaled USD 178.5 million in third quarter of 2014, a 40% decrease compared to third quarter of 2014 (USD 295.6 million). Capital expenditures at Cerro Verde were USD 463.8 million in the third quarter of 2014.

For the first nine-month period of 2014, copper production was 170,906 MT against 33,463 MT, a year ago. Net income was USD 321.7 million compared to USD 416.5 million in the first nine months of 2013 and EBITDA was USD 627.5 million compared to USD 725.8 million in the first nine months of 2013. Capital expenditures at Cerro Verde were USD 1,301 million in the first nine months of 2014.
