Siemens Healthineers' : Covid-19 Test Gets European Nod for Frontal Swab Use

Siemens Healthineers AG said Tuesday that its rapid Covid-19 antigen test has achieved CE mark to be used with frontal nasal swabs.

The testing kit had previously become available under CE mark --the European Economic Area's mark for safety, health and environmental protection standards-- in October with the nasopharyngeal swab method.

The new, frontal method can be used in addition to the nasopharyngeal one and can be less cumbersome and time consuming for providers and patients, according to the company.
