CHANGES TO GOVERNING BODIES
Semapa hereby announces that Mr. João Castello Branco, Director and Chairman of the Executive Committee (CEO), believes that, two terms after joining the Group as Chairman of the Executive Committee, the goals he was set when he was appointed have been met and that there are conditions for his succession in the leadership of the Group. Thus it is his intention to resign his position as Director and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the company at the end of the current term and therefore has tendered his resignation, effective as from 31 December 2021.
The Board of Directors has thus appointed Executive Director, Mr. Ricardo Pires, as Chairman of the Executive Committee (CEO) of Semapa with effects as from 1 January 2022.
The Board of Directors wishes to thank Mr. João Castello Branco for the dedication and professionalism with which he performed his role as Chairman of the Executive Committee during his two terms of office, acknowledging his decisive contribution to the sustained development of Semapa and the group of which it is part.

Semapa is a diversified group organized around 3 sectors of activity:
- production of paper and pulp (78.9% of net sales);
- production of cement and building materials (19.3%): primarily cement and clinker, aggregates, mortar and ready-to-use concrete;
- environmental services (1.8%).
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: Portugal (24.5%), Europe (43.8%), Americas (14.1%), Africa (12.1%) and Asia (5.5%).
