No reason to panic, or Rawlplug Vietnam putting out fires Jun 29, 2023

Actual fire, a genuine fire engine, and some real-life water belching fire hoses. This is not a description of an action film set, but of perfectly organised fire fighting training held at Rawlplug's Vietnamese manufacturing plant.

23 employees representing all local departments (including production, warehouse, and offices) took part in the drill conducted by Mr Nghia, an officer of the PC07 fire fighting police division, with a sole purpose: to learn the principles of effective cooperation in the unlikely (touch wood) event of fire outbreak.

It was not for the first time that our colleagues impressed us with their true team spirit (yes, we do follow your football achievements) having swiftly divided the tasks they had been assigned between three groups. The first one, composed of four persons, was responsible for dispatching the fire service, disconnecting power supply, clearing the path for fire fighters, and managing the evacuation. Groups two and three were trained in handling hydrants, cooperating with fire fighters, rescuing the wounded, and delivering first aid.

"It was a serious trial for us," says Thương, machine operator at Rawlplug Vietnam. "I learned how to control panic and take decisive actions when facing an emergency. This will definitely pay off, and not only at work, but also in my private life."

Training events such as the one held a few days ago at Rawlplug Vietnam are no rarity. The local law on fire protection and prevention expressly states that every company must have a trained team of people expected to take immediate steps in emergency situations. We are totally confident of the Rawlplug Vietnam team in this respect. The fire fighting certification test was not only spectacular (just have a look at the pictures), but it mainly confirmed that we can take care of safety - both ours, and of other people.
